Windows Media Photo is a new file format for end-to-end digital imaging, developed by Microsoft Corporation, and introduced in conjunction with Windows Vista. In addition to being freely available on all Microsoft operating systems and platforms, Windows Media Photo is available at little or no cost for implementation on devices and other platforms. It is the preferred image format for XML Paper Specification (XPS), Microsoft?s new printer spool file and portable document format. It is also the foundation for several new web imaging projects currently under development.

This presentation will provide an overview of the capabilities of this new image file format and the new opportunities it creates for application developers.

Thanks to those who attended the presentation, including the great questions and keeping it interactive. Here are links to the (fairly large) PowerPoint deck I presented, including extra slides with more information (and screen shots from the demos), a link to my Windows Media Photo blog, and a link to the official Microsoft web page where you can download the feature specification.

There are many other links to useful information in my blog as well as in the PowerPoint deck.
